NAME: Dr. Consolatha Joachim Ngonyani Mhaiki (PhD)
Dr Consolatha Joachim Ngonyani Mhaiki is a Chief Technologist and Laboratory supervisor (with over 20 years of expertise in Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Sciences and Downstream biochemical processing of agricultural wastes). The main responsibility of Dr Mhaiki is the Management of Soil and Geological Sciences Departmental laboratory facilities which are located at Sokoine University of Agriculture. The facilities are used for the practical oriented teaching, research and consultancy services related to soil management and crop production. Furthermore Dr Mhaiki is advisor to Research Scientists, Agro dealers and Farmers on agrochemical management and handling (specifically on quality assurance of fertilizers and soil conditioners) for the sustainable soil management and crop production purposes.
FORMER EMPLOYMENT RECORD
Dr Mhaiki worked with the Chief Government Chemist Laboratory Agency in 1988-1992 as Analytical chemist and Human toxicologist. She was also responsible for the general assessment of the quality and safety of industrial products including agrochemical materials, for both, the consumer chemical tariffs and reporting for legal implications. Dr Mhaiki was also routinely involved in assessing hospital drugs performances and monitoring of psychotropic drugs.
