Public Lecture Invitation on Green Circular Economy

The Department of Soil and Geological Sciences is hosting a Public Lecture with three distinguished speakers. The session will feature three lectures from the United Kingdom and South African researchers.

1. Algae for the Circular Economy: Next Generation Liquid Film Photobioreactors
By Dr. Bradley D. Bock (Pr.Eng): a senior lecturer at the University of Pretoria’s Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering. He is an experimental researcher within the field of heat and mass transfer, with a primary focus on phase change heat transfer processes such as boiling, evaporation and condensation
2. Engineered solutions for an unpolluted environment for underserved communities
By Prof. Tanja Radu; a Professor of Environmental Engineering and highly multidisciplinary researcher, focusing on engineered solutions for the provision of renewable energy, clean water, and an unpolluted environment for underserved communities, as well as the provision of solutions for low-carbon fuels, integrated with waste management, valorisation, and resource recovery
3. Advancing Circular Chemical Engineering: Integrated Waste Conversion and Sustainable Innovation
By Dr. Jonathan Wagner, a reader in Circular Chemical Engineering whose research is focused on the development of circular, low-carbon processes to produce chemicals, fuels, and other value-adding products from sustainably sourced biomass and end-of-life wastes
