The Agriculture, Nutrition and Health (ANH) Academy is a global platform uniting over 10,000 interdisciplinary researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from more than 160 countries to strengthen the linkages between agriculture, food systems, nutrition, and health. With over 65% of its members based in Africa and Asia, the ANH Academy is committed to inclusive, impactful dialogue and action.
The 10th Annual ANH Academy Week (#ANH2025) was successfully held from 16 to 26 June 2025, blending online and in-person engagement. The event was co-hosted by Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), Tanzania’s leading institution in agricultural education and research, alongside regional and international partners.
The event featured Learning Labs (June 16–18 online; June 23 in-person) and a hybrid Research Conference (June 24–26). It attracted hundreds of participants globally and presented innovative research, tools, and policy discussions aimed at transforming food systems to deliver better nutrition and health outcomes.
The Vice Chancellor of Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), Prof. Raphael Chibunda, expressed pride in SUA’s co-hosting of this global event. He emphasized the importance of continued trust from international institutions and appreciated the great government support in enhancing SUA’s infrastructure for research, teaching, and agricultural excellence.
Prof. Maulid Mwatawala from SUA played a central role, co-organizing sessions and moderating high-level panels on climate-smart agriculture, food systems resilience, and nutrition-sensitive value chains. SUA staff and students also presented research on agroecological approaches and sustainable farming technologies.
The event leads to capacity-building workshops, policy roundtables, poster presentations, and networking sessions that promote regional collaboration and the uptake of research. The event also reaffirmed the importance of local institutions, such as SUA, in leading and influencing global discourse on agriculture, nutrition, and health. Participants joined from across the world, making ANH2025 a truly inclusive and impactful gathering.
