Paul Mbogo Kusolwa (Ph.D.) is an Associate Professor in Horticulture and Biotechnology. He teaches Vegetable Crops, Plant Biotechnology, and Molecular Biology His research involvement include projects on Breeding for Bruchids and Foliar Disease resistance in common beans (Phaseolus vulgaris); Mutation breeding or heat tolerance in rice (Oryza sativa); Seed technology, seed systems, and seed health in tropical cereal crops; Genetic diversity and molecular fingerprinting of major food and cash crops of Tanzania.

He has published 42 articles in peer-reviewed journals, three books, and two book chapters, and several conference papers and extension materials. Prof. Kusolwa is a member of the Governing Board for National Biotechnology and Biosafety Committee (NBC) under the Prime Ministers Office – Environment
