BSc. Food Science and Technology: provide students with education in food science and technology, from which graduates can enter a career in food industry, food chain and other related management and legislation sectors, and self-employment. Main subjects of study include processing technologies for diverse food products (e.g. cereals, dairy, meat and fish, fruits and vegetables), food microbiology and biotechnology, food chemistry and analysis, food quality and management control, food process engineering, new product development and sensory evaluation. Students use improved technologies to develop various food products, add value to raw food commodities, and improve the quality and safety of foods.
BSc. Human Nutrition: develop students’ knowledge and understanding in nutrition science and practice that is informed by research, by laying a broad foundation in nutrition throughout the life cycle, epidemiology, public health nutrition, nutritional assessment and counselling, advocacy and communication, policy and programming, and design and evaluation of nutrition interventions and programmes.
BSc. Family and Consumer Studies: a multidisciplinary programme focusing on the science and art of living and working well for improvement of individual well-being, family and community vitality. Students are prepared for career in consumer sciences through knowledge, skills, attitude and behaviors in resource management, hospitality and food service management, textile, clothing and fashion, retail and merchandising of consumer goods, housing and interior design, and human development and behaviour in different social contexts and perspectives.
