DAECD wins the SUA Intramural University Competition 2024 cup

The football team of students from the Department of Agricultural Extension and Community Development (DAECD) of the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) has written a new history by winning the SUA Intramural University Competition 2024 cup. The team, which includes students studying Bachelor of Community Development and Bachelor of Agricultural Extension, has shown great competence in the competition organized and managed by SUA.

This competition witnessed strong opposition from various teams, but the students of Agricultural Extension and Community Development showed high discipline and great skills, and finally succeeded in winning the historic victory.

During the cup handing ceremony, various SUA leaders shared speeches to congratulate the team.  Dr. Ahmad A.M. Kyaruzi, one of the lecturers from DAECD who also represented the head of the department, congratulated the members of the team for their tireless efforts and commitment. He said, “This victory is not only a victory for the team but a victory for our entire department. You have shown that through cooperation and hard work, nothing is impossible.”

Dr. Shausi also praised the team, noting that the game has shown that students can achieve great things with unity. “This is an example to be emulated by all other students. You have shown that sports can bring enthusiasm and unity,” said Dr. Shausi.

Rasel Mpuya Madaha added that this success shows the importance of sports in developing students’ talents and preparing them for the future. “Sports are an important part of the social and intellectual development of students. We believe that this victory will open more doors for our students to participate in national and international competitions,” explained Dr. Madaha.

The chairman of CDA, Ndege Magoma, on his part, congratulated all the players and fans for their good cooperation. He said, “without your support, this victory would not have been easy to achieve. I pray that we continue this unity in all matters inside and outside the college. Our unity is our strength.”

Fans and the football players showed their joy by singing and dancing after winning the cup, while promising to continue flying the DAECD flag well in other tournaments to come.

This victory motivates other teams and all DAECD students to get more involved in sports, strengthening health and social cohesion in the college. Many congratulations go to the players, teachers and fans for their efforts that made it possible to win the cup.

Timu ya wanafunzi kutoka Idara ya Agricultural Extension and Community Development (DAECD) ya Chuo Kikuu cha Sokoine cha Kilimo (SUA) imeandika historia kwa kutwaa kombe la SUA Intermural Competition 2024. Timu hiyo, inayojumuisha wanafunzi wanaosoma Bachelor of Community Development na Bachelor of Agricultural Extension, imeonyesha umahiri mkubwa katika mashindano hayo yaliyoandaliwa na kusimamiwa na SUA.

Mashindano haya yalishuhudia upinzani mkali kutoka kwa timu mbalimbali, lakini wanafunzi wa Agricultural Extension and Community Development walionyesha nidhamu ya hali ya juu na ustadi mkubwa wa mchezo, hatimaye wakafanikiwa kutwaa ushindi huo wa kihistoria.

Katika sherehe za kukabidhi kombe, viongozi mbalimbali wa SUA walitoa hotuba za pongezi kwa timu hiyo. Dr. Kialuzi, mmoja wa wahadhiri kutoka DAECD ambaye pia alimuwakilisha mkuu wa idara hiyo, aliwapongeza wachezaji kwa jitihada zao na kujituma kwao bila kuchoka. Alisema, “Ushindi huu siyo tu ushindi wa timu bali ni ushindi wa idara yetu yote. Mmeonyesha kuwa kupitia ushirikiano na bidii, hakuna lisilowezekana.”

Dr. Shausi pia alisifu timu hiyo, akibainisha kuwa mchezo huo umeonyesha kuwa wanafunzi wanaweza kufanikisha mambo makubwa wakiwa na umoja. “Huu ni mfano wa kuigwa na wanafunzi wengine wote. Mmeonyesha kuwa michezo inaweza kuleta hamasa na mshikamano,” alisema Dr. Shausi.

Dr. Madaha aliongeza kuwa mafanikio haya yanaonyesha umuhimu wa michezo katika kuendeleza vipaji vya wanafunzi na kuwaandaa kwa maisha ya baadaye. “Michezo ni sehemu muhimu ya maendeleo ya kijamii na kiakili ya wanafunzi. Tunaamini kuwa ushindi huu utafungua milango zaidi kwa wanafunzi wetu kushiriki katika mashindano ya kitaifa na kimataifa,” alieleza Dr. Madaha.

Mwenyekiti wa CDA, Ndege Magoma, kwa upande wake, aliwapongeza wachezaji na mashabiki wote kwa ushirikiano wao mzuri. Alisema, “Bila sapoti yenu, ushindi huu usingekuwa rahisi kufanikisha. Naomba tuendeleze umoja huu katika mambo yote ndani na nje ya chuo. Umoja wetu ni nguvu yetu.”
Mashabiki na wachezaji walionyesha furaha yao kwa kuimba na kucheza baada ya kushinda kombe hilo, huku wakiahidi kuendelea kupeperusha vyema bendera ya DAECD katika mashindano mengine yajayo.

Ushindi huu unatoa motisha kwa timu nyingine na wanafunzi wote wa DAECD kujihusisha zaidi na michezo, ikiimarisha afya na mshikamano wa kijamii chuoni hapo. Pongezi nyingi ziwaendee wachezaji, walimu na mashabiki kwa juhudi zao zilizowezesha kutwaa taji hili.
