Mr. David Mugisha a 3rd yr BSc. Animal Sciences emerged among the Top 10 winners in the 11th National Essay Writing Competition of 2023 – 2024

Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) organized the 11th National Essay Writing Competition of 2023 – 2024, with the theme “Empowering Consumers through Standardization to Achieve their Rights to Safe Quality Goods and Services”. All students from Tanzania Universities and Colleges were invited to participate in this diligent essay writing competition.

The winners were announced during African Organization for Standardization (ARSO) Day on March 28, 2024, at TBS headquarters in Dar es Salaam, presided over by Chief Judge Dr. Ashura Katunzi. The event was opened by the Director General of TBS, Dr. Athuman Ngenya, and the guest of honor was Ubungo DC, Honourable Hassan Bomboko, representing Dar es Salaam RC Albert Chalamila.

A third-year student from BSc. Animal Sciences, Mr. David Mugisha has emerged the eighth winner on the list. The Head of the Animal, Aquaculture, and Range Sciences Department, Prof. Anthony Z. Sangeda congratulates his student on this great achievement. However, Sokoine University of Agriculture students, dominate the 11th National Essay Writing Competition where five students appeared in the Top Ten list.

Other winners from the Sokoine University of Agriculture are Essau Samson Nyambaye (1st Winner) from BSc. Food Science and Technology, Bareto Happy Malisa (4th-position), BSc. Human Nutrition; Amimu Abdalatifu Hakimu (7th position) from BSc. Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness and Everius M. Constantin (9th position) from BSc. Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness.
