Crop Museum

The Crop Museum is 8 ha farm within Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) Main Campus. It is a centre for Agrobiodiversity conservation and agro – ecological intensification. Various crops are produced and sold in an Agri shop located within the the Museum. 

Experimental and demonstration plots are also located within the Museum.

The Crop Museum is a collection of various crops including Robusta coffee Coffee Coffea canephora Pierre ex. A. Froehner, Tea Camellia sinensis (L) O. Kuntze, cotton Gossypium hirsutum L. , Arabica coffee Coffea arabica L., wild coffee Coffea kihansiensis A.P.Davis & Mvungi, sugar cane Saccharum officinarum L., clove Syzygium aromaticum (L.) Merrill & Perry, sisal Agave sisalana Perrine, cashew Anacardium occidentale L. and cocoa Theobroma cacao L.
