Prof. Germana Henry Laswai<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Professor in Animal Nutrition<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Germana Henry Laswai is a Tanzanian Senior Professor in the Department of Animal, Aquaculture, and Range Sciences, <\/a><\/span>\u00a0born in 1958 in Rombo District, Kilimanjaro. She is married with three children and five grandchildren. Prof. Germana LAswai is a PhD graduate of the University of Reading<\/a> and since 2007 she has been serving as a full professor in Animal Nutrition at the Department. <\/span><\/p>\n

Currently, she is supervising and providing lectures in Animal Nutrition and Management for both undergraduate (Introduction to Animal Nutrition, Applied Animal Nutrition, Poultry and Rabbit Management) and postgraduate (Comparative Animal Nutrition) students. Most of her research<\/span> interests are in Animal Nutrition and physiology, Management, and Socio-economic studies. Prof. Germana Laswai was employed at the Sokoine University of Agriculture as a Tutorial Assistant in 1983 – 1986. She was promoted to Assistant Lecturer from 1986 – 1992. In 1992 she was promoted to a Lecturer position and served the position until 1996. Prof. Laswai’s promoted to Senior Lecturer in 1996 and served the position until 2003. In 2003 to 2007 was promoted to Associate Professor.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prof Laswai served as a member in various boards of faculties and institutions and in various committees. She is currently serving as a Vice Chairperson of the Tanzania Dairy Board<\/a> (TDB)<\/strong> and an Honorary Treasurer of the SUA Alumni. She is also a member in the following Professional bodies: Tanzania Society of Animal Production<\/a> (TSAP)<\/strong>; Sokoine University of Agriculture Staff Association<\/a> (SUASA)<\/strong>; Member, Sokoine University of Agriculture Alumni & Member, Twiga Ujirani Mwema Community Association<\/span><\/p>\n
