(Aquaculture) from Ghent University, Belgium and B.Sc. (Animal Science) from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), Tanzania. He began his professional carrier in 2003 as a member of academic staff responsible for teaching, research and outreach on various aspects of aquaculture. He rose to the rank of Senior Lecturer and served as Head of Department of Animal, Aquaculture and Range Sciences from 2013 to 2018. The Department hosts several degree programs including B.Sc. Aquaculture and MSc Aquaculture. During that period, he supervised 61 students, wrote 40 publications, participated in 10 research projects and undertook 16 consultancy assignments. In November 2018 he was appointed to serve as Director of Aquaculture in the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries.
